Visionist Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with an active TS/SCI clearance and polygraph.

You will join a team delivering AI-driven improvements across readiness and certification workflows, developing AI harnesses and MCP servers, and integrating AI tools with organizational data and systems. The role emphasizes systems engineering across the full lifecycle, strong Python/C++ scripting, and collaboration with leadership, training teams, and mission stakeholders to rapidly enhance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (additional 4 years of experience may substitute degree).
• 12 years of experience in Software Engineering.
• Experience with operating systems and networking concepts, including security, design, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with scripting and programming languages, including Bash, Python, and C++.
• Experience applying AI/ML technologies to improve workload efficiency and automate routine tasks.
• Experience with AI harnesses and agentic workflows, including implementing Skills and MCP servers.
• Experience applying systems engineering fundamentals from initial design through development and delivery.
• Experience with documentation generation and organization.

Responsibilities

• Engage with organizational leadership, training staff, and stakeholders to identify process bottlenecks and define requirements for AI-driven improvements.
• Conceptualize, design, and develop innovative AI solutions to streamline and expedite readiness and certification workflows.
• Integrate and configure AI harnesses, including developing custom Skills and Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, to connect AI workflows with organizational data and tools.
• Apply systems engineering fundamentals across the full lifecycle, from initial design and prototyping through development, testing, and delivery.
• Utilize AI software engineering practices to rapidly build, iterate on, and maintain automation tools using Python, Bash, and C++.
• Leverage AI to support the development, review, and maintenance of JQS and TQS documentation.
• Develop technical documentation, user guides, and training materials to support adoption of new AI tools by the training team.
• Provide systems engineering expertise and technical documentation support to the training team and stakeholders.
