Job summary

KBR Mission Technology Solutions seeks a Jr. Software Engineer to design, develop, implement, maintain and test software for scientific and engineering applications. You will work under mission standards and collaborate with engineers on data processing systems.

The role involves prototyping, testing, debugging, and documentation, with opportunities to contribute across the software lifecycle in a defense-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain CI Polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in CS, Software Engineering, or related field with 0–3 years of experience (or AA with 3 years); alternatives per contract.
• In lieu of formal education, 10 years of related experience may apply.

Responsibilities

• Create prototypes and perform internal testing of software products.
• Respond to software discrepancies against documented requirements and provide resolution.
• Determine software maintainability and adherence to user requirements.
• Generate program design language and code based on mission standards.
• Generate/update project documents.
• Analyze and evaluate systems for computer specifications in scientific/engineering applications.
• Encode, test, debug, and install operating programs and procedures.
• Collaborate with engineers in design, development, and utilization of software for data processing systems.
• Provide analysis related to software for products like utility, development, and diagnostic software.
• Participate in development of engineering test strategies, devices and systems.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
