Job summary

KBR Mission Technology Solutions is hiring a JR Software Engineer in Columbia, MD. The role covers design, development, testing, maintenance and documentation of software for scientific and engineering applications.

Active TS/SCI clearance is required; 0–3 years experience with a CS/SE degree or 3+ years with an AA. Expect collaboration with engineers on mission-critical systems and adherence to rigorous standards.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain CI Poly.
• BA/BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field with 0-3 years of related experience, or AA with 3 years of related experience; education requirements vary by contract.

Responsibilities

• Create prototypes and perform internal testing of software products.
• Respond to software discrepancies against documented requirements and provide resolution.
• Determine software maintainability and adherence to user requirements.
• Generate program design language and code based on mission standards.
• Generate/update project documents.
• Analyze and evaluate systems for scientific/engineering applications.
• Encode, test, debug, and install operating programs and procedures.
• Collaborate with engineers in the design, development, and utilization of software for data processing systems.
