Job summary

Leidos in Huntsville is seeking a Software Engineer to develop robust software for Tactical strike guided munition programs. You will work on full-stack software architectures and mission-critical tools, with emphasis on safety, cybersecurity, and RMF compliance.

Responsibilities include design reviews, tool selection, and collaboration across teams. Requires 2+ years in embedded software and C/C++. U.S. citizenship and DoD clearance eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field with GPA 3.0+.
• 2+ years of relevant technical experience.
• Experience developing, integrating, testing, or troubleshooting embedded software interfacing with embedded systems.
• U.S. citizen eligible for DoD clearance.
• Resident of North Alabama or willing to relocate to Huntsville area.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and exposure to Python or Java.
• Understanding of software architecture patterns and CM practices.
• Experience with software quality engineering concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement full-stack software architecture for missile system applications, including guidance, navigation, control, telemetry, and mission planning.
• Participate in design, code, and review processes to ensure quality and standards.
• Support tool selection, frameworks, and development approaches.
• Develop modular, reusable, portable, and maintainable software.
• Ensure code reviews and best practices are followed.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate regularly.
• Support flight test operations and post-test analysis.
• Ensure software adheres to military and aviation safety and RMF standards.
