Job summary

Leidos is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our Huntsville office to develop software for Tactical strike guided munition programs. You will work on robust software frameworks and fielding of mission-critical systems, including analysis tools, simulations, and mission planning components.

You will design and implement full-stack architectures, participate in reviews, and mentor junior engineers. The role requires 4+ years of embedded software experience and U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with GPA 3.0+ or equivalent.
• 4+ years of relevant technical experience.
• U.S. citizen and eligible for DoD security clearance.
• Experience with embedded software interfaces and control systems.
• Residence in North Alabama or willingness to relocate to Huntsville area.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement full-stack software architecture for missile system applications including guidance, navigation, control, telemetry, and mission planning.
• Participate in design reviews and ensure coding standards and best practices.
• Support toolchains, frameworks, and development approaches.
• Mentor junior software engineers and promote code quality.
• Ensure modularity, portability, and maintainability of software products.
• Collaborate with customers and team members on technical decisions.
• Support flight test operations and post-test analysis.
• Adhere to military and aviation safety and RMF standards.
