Job summary

CoStar Group is seeking an Associate Security Engineer in Richmond, VA. You will assist with deploying and improving security technologies under the guidance of experienced team members, gaining hands-on experience in vulnerability management, endpoint security, and threat detection.

The role offers a Monday-Thursday in-office schedule with Friday work-from-home, and targets students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity or related fields with an expected graduation date between December

Qualifications

Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, CS, IT, or Software Engineering with an expected graduation Dec 2026–Jun 2027.
Minimum 3.0 GPA.
Demonstrated interest in cybersecurity through personal projects or activities.
At least 2 months of internship/co-op experience.
Exposure to scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
Strong written and verbal communication; ability to document findings clearly.
Ability to follow processes and collaborate with technical teams.

Responsibilities

Support the implementation and maintenance of cybersecurity controls across endpoints, identities, cloud platforms, applications, and business processes.
Learn and reinforce security concepts for technical and non-technical audiences; gain hands-on experience in vulnerability management, endpoint security, threat detection, and automation.
