CoStar Group is seeking an Associate Security Engineer in Richmond, VA, with a hybrid schedule: in-office Monday to Thursday and optional work-from-home on Fridays. The role focuses on implementing and maintaining cybersecurity controls across endpoints, cloud platforms, and applications, while learning security concepts and improving security practices.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, CS, IT, or related field.
• Expected graduation between Dec 2026 and Jun 2027.
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
• Shows interest in cybersecurity beyond coursework.
• At least 2 months of internship/co-op experience.
• Exposure to scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash or Python.
• Ability to troubleshoot and document findings clearly.
• Strong written and verbal communication; capable of working with technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Support implementation and maintenance of cybersecurity controls across endpoints, identities, cloud platforms, applications, and business processes.
• Learn and reinforce security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Gain hands-on experience in vulnerability management, endpoint security, security tool integration, threat detection and response, software security, and AI security/automation.
• Assist with deploying, supporting, and improving security technologies under guidance.
• Demonstrate initiative and willingness to learn new tools and strengthen security practices.
