Job summary

SOCOTEC, Inc. is seeking a Junior Scheduler / Project Controls Consultant in the United States. The role focuses on developing and maintaining construction schedules, CPM analyses, and project controls support across building and infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate has about two years of experience with a contractor or project team, and strong Excel/PowerPoint skills; Oracle Primavera P6 and MS Project are a plus. Hybrid/office work in multiple US offices is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• Approximately 2 or more years of relevant construction industry experience with exposure to scheduling.
• Practical experience developing or maintaining construction schedules and understanding CPM scheduling.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills and good written/verbal communication.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; able to organize project information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development, review, and maintenance of detailed construction project schedules.
• Develop and update CPM schedules based on scope and sequencing.
• Support baseline, updates, recovery, and short‑term look‑ahead schedules.
• Review contractor submissions for completeness and schedule logic.
• Monitor progress and incorporate actual progress into updates.
• Identify critical/near‑critical activities and impacts to milestones.
• Assist with schedule variance analyses and changes to the critical path.
• Collect schedule information, progress data, and supporting docs.
• Prepare schedule narratives, progress reports, graphics, and presentations.
• Support delay analyses, change orders, and schedule impact reviews.
• Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, designers, and stakeholders.
