Job summary

Mann Wireless, Ltd. is seeking an entry-level Engineering Technologist to bridge field operations and engineering design for DAS and public-safety wireless projects. Initial training involves field work and learning DAS/BDA installation workflows, while collaborating with sales and project teams to deliver accurate proposals and designs.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 0-2 years RF/telecom, IT, or related field; internships count.
  • IT experience or aptitude is desired.
  • Basic RF theory and DAS/in-building wireless concepts.
  • Familiarity with iBwave design platform.
  • Familiarity with RF test equipment (PCTEL) and spectrum analyzers.
  • Willingness for light field work and travel.
  • Strong communication and computer skills (MS Office; CAD/Visio/Bluebeam a plus).

Responsibilities

  • Develop project quotes, estimates, and proposals for DAS/public safety wireless projects, working closely with the sales and project management teams.
  • Create and maintain designs using the iBwave design platform, including construction drawings, equipment layouts, and design submittals for review by a senior engineering technologist or engineer.
  • Perform on-site RF surveys (pre- and post-installation) to collect signal data and site conditions used to inform system design.
  • Perform system testing, commissioning, and signal verification primarily using PCTEL test equipment (spectrum analyzers, signal survey tools, etc.).
  • Prepare bills of materials (BOM) and supporting design documentation.
  • Assist with light construction and field installation tasks - particularly during the initial training period - to build a working understanding of DAS/BDA systems, cabling, and site infrastructure are installed and integrated.
  • Travel to job sites as needed to support the field team and verify installations against designs.
  • Communicate and coordinate with the field team to provide updated designs, drawings, and technical guidance as site conditions or project scope evolve.
  • Document field changes, as-built conditions, and site audit findings, incorporating field data back into design packages.
  • Ensure designs and installations comply with applicable codes, standards, and client/engineering specifications.
  • Support project documentation, including design submittals and closeout packages.
  • Participate in team meetings and project reviews; communicate project status, risks, and technical requirements to internal stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned, with increasing responsibility for design, testing, and field coordination as skills develop.
