Job summary

Ferguson & Shamamian Architects in New York, NY, seeks a motivated Junior Architect to contribute to highly custom traditional residential projects through all design phases, from schematic design to construction documents.

The ideal candidate holds a B.Arch/B.S.Arch/B.A.Arch or M.Arch, with up to 3 years of experience, and demonstrates strong organizational, drafting and communication skills, with a collaborative, methodical approach and a drive for growth within the firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in architecture (B.Arch, B.S.Arch, B.A.Arch, or M.Arch) required.
• Up to 3 years experience.
• Knowledge of classical and traditional architecture.
• Self-motivated with interpersonal skills to work independently and in teams.
• Resourceful multitasker with good time management and deadline pressure.
• Highly organized with detail orientation and graphic abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ambitious, creative, versatile, collegial, and curious.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design studies, presentation drawings & materials.
• Draft and detail construction documents.
• Coordinate with outside designers and consultants.
• Collaborate with team to develop schematic design through construction administration.
