Duties include reviewing incident reports, drafting charging instruments, conducting legal research, and preparing motions and jury instructions under supervision.

The role involves trial preparation, witness interviews, and court presentations, with opportunities to assist arraignments, bail determinations, and sentencing proceedings.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Eligible to practice law in Utah and admitted to Utah State Bar within 6 months of hire.
• One year of legal practice experience or equivalent training.

Responsibilities

• Review incident reports and evidence for criminal cases.
• Draft charges, motions, briefs, memoranda, and jury instructions.
• Assist lead prosecutors with trial preparation, witness interviews, and exhibit management.
• Prepare warrants, subpoenas, and writs; support administrative research and training.
