Qualifications

• Must qualify for and maintain a student practice certificate under Utah Supreme Court Rules for duration of employment.
• Entry- to working-level legal research, drafting, and case preparation duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform legal research, drafting motions, briefs, and memoranda.
• Assist with criminal prosecutions and county department representation.
• Review evidence (police reports, body-worn camera footage) to identify issues and support trial strategy.
• Under student practice rules, may appear in court for arraignments/hearings; manage discovery deadlines; assist with appellate briefs and witness consultations.
