Job summary

Cache County Corporation's Attorney's Office seeks a Deputy County Attorney I–IV to handle professional legal duties and expedite criminal litigation under the County Attorney. Supervises legal assistants on a project basis and may oversee lower-level attorneys.

Position requires a Juris Doctorate and Utah license, with career progression from Attorney I to IV. Full-time benefits include health and retirement plans, bereavement leave, holidays, and substantial personal leave in year one.

Qualifications

JD required from an accredited law school.
Licensed to practice law in the State of Utah.
Experience in prosecutorial work is a plus.

Responsibilities

Prosecuting felonies and misdemeanors in district, justice, and juvenile courts.
Reviewing investigations to screen charges and prepare filings.
Drafting pleadings, gathering evidence, and preparing legal documents.
Representing the State at hearings, trials, and negotiations.
Interviewing victims, witnesses, and officers for case preparation.
Submitting status reports to the County Attorney.
Collaborating with support staff and providing public assistance on legal matters.
