Job summary

The Carbon County Attorney's Office in Price, Utah has an immediate opening for a full-time Deputy County Attorney to prosecute criminal cases in Carbon County's District and Justice Courts. The selected attorney will handle cases from initial screening through trial and sentencing.

Responsibilities include evaluating written reports and other evidence, interviewing witnesses, presenting evidence at hearings and trials, working closely with law enforcement, assisting victims and witnesses, and

Qualifications

• Utah bar licensed or eligible to practice law.
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
• Commitment to fairness and ethical prosecution.
• Ability to manage an independent caseload while collaborating with others.

Responsibilities

• Prosecute criminal cases in District and Justice Courts from screening to sentencing.
• Evaluate evidence, interview witnesses, prepare pleadings and trials.
• Present evidence at hearings, motions, and trials.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, investigators and prosecutors.
• Assist crime victims and witnesses through the process.
• Mentor colleagues and leverage in-house investigators and polygrapher.
