Cache County Corporation seeks a Deputy County Attorney I–IV to join the Attorney's Office in Utah. Under the County Attorney's direction, the deputy handles criminal litigation, supervises legal assistants, and may oversee lower-level attorneys on a project basis.

The role emphasizes prosecuting felonies and misdemeanors, conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, and representing the State in court. Quick adaptation to procedures and strong communication with the public are essential.

Qualifications

Graduated from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctorate Degree and licensed to practice law in Utah.
Experience range varies by Attorney level from I to IV as described in the posted qualifications.
Strong litigation and legal-writing skills are required.

Responsibilities

Prosecute felonies and misdemeanors in district, justice, and juvenile courts.
Review investigations to determine charges and pursue charges per procedures.
Perform legal research, draft pleadings, gather and analyze evidence, and issue writs or subpoenas.
Represent the State at arraignments, hearings, trials, and settlements.
Interview victims, witnesses, and law enforcement in preparation for hearings.
Submit status reports on assigned cases to the County Attorney.
Collaborate with support staff and provide general assistance to the public.
