Job summary

Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company seeks an Estimator I for its Estimating department in Fort Wayne, IN. The role involves determining building replacement cost and actual cash value from surveys, diagrams and photos provided by agents to assist in proper insurance-to-value decisions.

Responsibilities include inputting valuation data into estimating systems, updating records, and collaborating with underwriters, agents and rater to meet production deadlines.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must meet the company established competency standard for business writing skills.
• Associate degree in business, insurance or engineering is desired.
• Completing an appraisal course and/or hold a property appraisers license is desired.
• Some insurance related course work is desired.
• Prior experience in property insurance, building construction, and/or real estate valuation is desired.

Responsibilities

• Determine building replacement cost and actual cash value using property surveys, diagrams, and photos.
• Input data into estimating systems to obtain final building valuation.
• Communicate analyzed data to the underwriter, rater, or agent.
• Enter valuation details into the Property Survey Master file and keep it current.
• Maintain and update values on existing insured properties.
• Support production to meet deadlines and complete the required number of estimates.
