Placements24 is seeking a Junior Legal Associate for a reputable Upington-based property law practice. This role suits a newly admitted attorney or someone with limited post-admission experience seeking hands-on exposure in property matters.

You will assist senior attorneys with drafting, due diligence, conveyancing, and client liaison, contributing to a supportive, client-focused team.

Qualifications

LLB degree from an accredited university.
Admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
Up to 3 years post-admission experience, focused on property law.
Knowledge of SA property law and conveyancing procedures.
Familiarity with the Deeds Registry system.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

Draft and review property-related legal documents (sale agreements, leases, mortgage bonds).
Conduct property searches and due diligence investigations.
Assist with registration of property transfers (conveyancing).
Liaise with clients, estate agents, financial institutions, and stakeholders.
Conduct legal research on property law and support senior lawyers.
Manage case files and maintain records of property transactions.
Ensure compliance with property legislation and conveyancing requirements.
Attend post-registration formalities and client liaison.
