Our client, a diversified real estate development and investment firm, seeks an Associate Legal Counsel specialized in Property Law. This role is based in Upington, Northern Cape, offering opportunities across acquisitions, disposals, leasing, and development projects within the South African context.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years post-qualification experience in Property Law, with strong drafting and negotiation skills, and a proven ability to handle complex property transactions.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney with minimum 4 years post-qualification experience in Property Law.
• Proficiency in conveyancing procedures and property-related transactions.
• Strong understanding of SA property law, contract law, and lease agreements.

Responsibilities

• Review, draft, and negotiate commercial and residential leases, sale agreements, and development agreements.
• Conduct legal due diligence on property acquisitions and disposals.
• Advise on property law, land use, zoning, and environmental regulations.
• Manage conveyancing processes for property transactions.
• Provide legal support for property financing and securitization transactions.
• Assist with landlord-tenant dispute resolution and other property matters.
• Ensure compliance with property legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with external counsel, agents, developers, and authorities.
• Maintain accurate property-related records.
