Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Project Controls Analyst I to join our Waterloo, Iowa team, supporting a diverse portfolio across Aviation, Transportation, and Water. This is an on-site role that offers exposure to multi-disciplinary projects and a path to develop project controls expertise.

You will monitor project financial performance, schedules, budgets, forecasts, and reporting, working with multidisciplinary teams across PM, finance, and operations to provide accurate information for sound business

Qualifications

• BA/BS with equivalency of experience or education.
• 2 years of experience in project controls, project accounting, financial management, scheduling, or related role.
• Familiarity with project financial systems and project management platforms.
• Strong attention to detail with QA/QC across financial information and data.

Responsibilities

• Support project controls activities from setup through closeout, including cost, schedule, forecasting, progress measurement, and reporting.
• Assist with establishing and maintaining WBS, cost baselines, budgets, schedules, and other controls systems.
• Monitor budgets, expenditures, commitments, revenue, profitability, and cash flow; identify trends, variances, and risks.
• Assist Project Managers with monthly forecasting, including EAC, labor hours, costs, and revenue.
• Collect and analyze progress, cost, schedule, and performance data for reporting and decision-making.
• Support earned value management, progress measurement, change management, contingency tracking, and risk analysis.
• Review project financial documentation for QA/QC and compliance.
• Assist with monthly project billing, including review of terms, approved rates, expenses, subcontractor costs, and progress.
• Track purchase orders, subconsultant and subcontractor commitments, expenditures, and invoices.
• Prepare project financial reports, forecasts, and management summaries using multiple platforms.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Operations Leaders, and finance teams across Aviation, Transportation, Bridges and Structures, and Water projects.
