Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Entry Level Transportation Engineer – Ports & Maritime to join our Transportation team in Philadelphia, PA. You will work on design, analysis, and maintenance of marine structures and facilities for cruise, cargo, and ferry clients.

Under supervision, you’ll collaborate with engineers and other professionals to deliver projects ranging from local waterfronts to international port developments, blending theory with practical application and learning through mentorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering or a closely related field.
• Knowledge of and experience using CADD/Design software (preferably MicroStation/OpenRoads/Geopak).
• Engineer in Training (EIT) or on track to obtain.
• Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship, now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of structural calculations/designs, drawings, and specifications, cost estimates, schedules, and reports.
• Interface with clients and subconsultants, give presentations and work on technical proposals.
• Learn and engage in design of maritime structures from waterfront parks to ports for offshore wind developments.
• Prepare design drawings, calculations, and reports for project delivery.
• Perform site visits, field inspections, and support field reports.
