Job summary

Jacobs seeks an Entry Level Structural Engineer to join our Northwest Ports and Maritime Group. You’ll work on design, analysis, and delivery of marine structures from local marinas to large port developments, under mentorship from senior engineers.

The role focuses on teamwork, Excel/MathCAD calculations, and compliance with ASCE, AASHTO, ACI, AISC, IBC, NDS, and PIANC. Hybrid schedule; Bellevue, WA or Portland, OR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong interest in marine and waterfront engineering.
• Basic knowledge of structural analysis and design principles.
• Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and analysis of marine structures, such as piers, wharves, docks, and seawalls.
• Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to develop innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges.
• Conduct site inspections and assessments to evaluate the condition of existing marine structures, perform on-site QA/QC tasks, or perform data collection activities.
• Support the preparation of project proposals, material take offs, and engineer’s cost estimates.
