Jacobs in Philadelphia, PA invites applications for an Entry Level Structural Engineer – Ports & Maritime to join our Transportation team. You will contribute to design, analysis and delivery of marine structures for cruise, cargo and ferry projects under experienced engineers.

You will learn to prepare calculations, drawings and specifications, engage with clients, and support multidisciplinary teams on waterfront and port developments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering or a closely related field.
• Knowledge of and experience using CAD software (Microstation/OpenRoads/Geopak).
• Engineer in Training (EIT) or on track to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of structural calculations/designs, contract drawings and specifications, cost estimates, schedules and reports.
• Interface with clients and subconsultants, give presentations and work on technical proposals.
• Learn and engage in the design of maritime structures from waterfront parks to ports supporting offshore wind farm developments.
• Contribute to the preparation of design drawings, calculations and design reports for project delivery.
• Perform site visits and field inspections and support field reports.
• Support collaboration across disciplines and markets within Jacobs to develop knowledge during project delivery.
• Design and analyze port infrastructure such as wharf decks, platforms, berthing, and mooring structures.
