Job summary

The City of Pueblo is seeking an entry-level Planner to support the Planning and Community Development Department under supervision. The role covers transportation, urban and land use planning, and collaboration with public, private, local, state, and federal entities.

The Planner will work with the Senior Planner and respond to customer inquiries. Responsibilities include reviewing zoning and development proposals, preparing planning reports, and presenting findings to boards and commissions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in planning, geography, public administration, policy, business, engineering, architecture or social sciences.
• Four years of experience in land use or planning with significant public interface.
• Six months of customer or public service experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in current and long-range land use and transportation planning.
• Prepare planning reports and present to boards/committees.
• Respond to inquiries regarding transportation and land use regulations.
• Coordinate city planning activities with departments and outside agencies.
• Conduct field inspections to verify compliance with permits and licenses.
