Job summary

City of Pueblo - Police Department seeks an entry-level Planner to assist in transportation, urban, and land use planning. You will support senior staff, coordinate with public and private partners, and respond to customer inquiries about regulations and plans.

The role involves routine to moderately complex tasks, collaborative work with the Senior Planner, and exposure to a range of planning projects under supervision.

Qualifications

• Requires a valid driver's license at time of application and Colorado driver's license within 30 days of employment.
• Bachelor's degree in planning, geography, public administration, policy, business, engineering, architecture or social sciences; or 6 months public/customer service experience; or 4 years in a land use/planning environment or a high school diploma.

Responsibilities

• Review zoning, subdivision, and development proposals for code compliance.
• Assist in current and long-range land use and transportation planning studies.
• Prepare planning reports and present recommendations to boards and committees.
• Coordinate with city departments and external agencies on planning projects.
• Respond to public inquiries regarding transportation and land use policies.
