Job summary

Artheon is seeking an entry level Construction Inspector to support transportation and infrastructure projects in Barnegat, NJ. You will perform field inspections, interpret construction plans, and assist with office engineering duties, all on-site daily.

The role is outdoors in varying conditions with potential night shifts and weekends. Fresh civil engineering graduates are encouraged to apply; NJDOT/NJ Turnpike experience is desirable and a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, specifications and technical documents.
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Willingness to work outdoors in active construction environments.
Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Perform field inspections on highway, bridge, airport, and transportation projects.
Monitor contractor activities for compliance with plans, safety requirements and quality standards.
Read and interpret engineering plans, drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
Prepare daily inspection reports, field documentation, and project records.
Assist with Office Engineer duties, including reviewing construction documentation and coordinating project information.
Coordinate with Resident Engineers, project managers, contractors and client agencies.
Support materials testing, QA, and project closeout documentation as required.
Work on-site daily with availability for night shifts, overtime and weekends as schedules require.
