Job summary

Artheon is seeking an Entry Level Construction Inspector to support field inspections on highways, bridges, airports, and transportation projects. The role entails interpreting plans, overseeing materials testing, and preparing reports. NJDOT/NJ Turnpike experience is a plus, with on-site daily work and potential night shifts.

The ideal candidate holds a civil engineering degree and demonstrates strong communication, attention to detail, and readiness to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Willingness to work outdoors in an active construction environment.
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, overtime, and occasional weekends as project needs require.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections on highway, bridge, airport, and transportation infrastructure construction projects.
• Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards.
• Read and interpret engineering plans, drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Prepare daily inspection reports, field documentation, and project records.
• Assist with Office Engineer responsibilities, including reviewing construction documentation and coordinating project information.
• Coordinate with Resident Engineers, project managers, contractors, and client agencies.
• Support materials testing, quality assurance, and project closeout documentation as required.
• Work on-site daily, with availability.
