Job summary

Artheon in Camden, NJ is seeking an Entry Level Construction Inspector to support transportation and infrastructure projects. This on-site role involves field inspections on highways, bridges, and airports, interpreting construction plans and specifications, and preparing daily reports.

Fresh civil engineering graduates are encouraged to apply, with exposure to NJDOT or NJ Turnpike Authority projects preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Willingness to work outdoors in an active construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections on highway, bridge, airport, and transportation infrastructure construction projects.
• Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards.
• Read and interpret engineering plans, drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Prepare daily inspection reports, field documentation, and project records.
• Assist with Office Engineer responsibilities, including reviewing construction documentation and coordinating project information.
• Coordinate with Resident Engineers, project managers, contractors, and client agencies.
• Support materials testing, quality assurance, and project closeout documentation as required.
• Work on-site daily, with availability for night shifts, overtime, and occasional weekends based on project schedules.
