Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company in Nashville is seeking a Junior NOC Engineer to monitor and support enterprise network infrastructure. You will perform initial troubleshooting, document incidents, and escalate to senior engineers as needed.

You will work within a 24x7 operations model, following SOPs for routine checks and handoffs, and contribute to trend analysis and continuous improvement in a federal IT environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 0–3 years of experience in network operations or NOC roles focused on monitoring and first-line troubleshooting.
• Foundational understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, and basic firewall behavior in LAN/WAN.
• Exposure to network management tools and devices (e.g., Cisco or Juniper; SolarWinds or similar).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work under pressure.
• Clear written and verbal communication, with accurate incident documentation.
• U.S. citizenship with a current secret security clearance (active within last 24 months) and Security+ or DoD 8180 IAT-II certification.

Responsibilities

• Monitor enterprise network devices, circuits, and services using network management tools and acknowledge alerts.
• Perform first-line network troubleshooting, verify device reachability, interface status, and link utilization.
• Execute standard SOPs for routine NOC tasks including health checks and device restarts.
• Document incidents, changes, and resolutions with clear symptoms, diagnostics, escalation paths, and outcomes.
• Participate in 24x7 coverage with shift logs and concise handoffs between shifts.
• Collaborate with senior NOC engineers for diagnostic data and directed troubleshooting.
• Support change and incident management processes with proper recording and approvals.
