Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with strong thermodynamics and power plant experience to join our Nuclear Power Group in Chicago. You will develop calculations, reports, and equipment sizing aligned with client needs, while supporting system design and analysis across projects.

The role may involve travel to client or plant sites for reviews and field verification. The ideal candidate holds a BS/MS in engineering with solid analytical and communication skills, and is ready to

Qualifications

BS or MS in Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear, General or Systems Engineering with strong thermodynamics and energy conversion focus.
Understanding of mechanical engineering design, fabrication drawings and technical plans.
Strong numerical computation and problem solving abilities.
Proficiency with MS Office and clear written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

Apply thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics to power plant engineering tasks.
Prepare calculations, specifications, and technical reports for client reviews.
Size equipment, perform optimization, and select components for project needs.
Support project teams with mechanical system design and analysis; travel to sites as needed.
