Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Mechanical/Systems Engineer in Warrenville, IL to apply thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics knowledge to power plant projects. You will prepare calculations, specs, and reports to support client recommendations and reviews, and participate in equipment sizing, optimization, and selection as required.

The role involves system engineering for power plant mechanical systems, potential travel to client and vendor sites for design reviews and field

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear, General or Systems Engineering with strong thermodynamics and energy conversion interest.
• Knowledge of applying mechanical engineering principles to project design.
• Familiarity with fabrication drawings, models, and technical plans.

Responsibilities

• Prepare calculations, specifications, and technical reports to support client recommendations and reviews.
• Conduct equipment sizing, optimization evaluation, and selection for project needs.
• Support project teams with system engineering and analysis of power plant mechanical systems.
• Travel to client/vendor sites for design reviews and field verification as needed.
