Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a Mechanical/Power Engineer to apply thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics to power plant projects. The role includes sizing, optimization and reporting for client reviews, with opportunities to travel for design reviews and site verification.

Candidates should have BS/MS in engineering and strong analytical and communication skills; ABET background is valued, with potential start in Summer 2027.

Qualifications

• This position requires a BS or MS in Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear, General or Systems Engineering with interest in thermodynamics, heat transfer and energy conversion.
• Strong practical knowledge of applying engineering principles to project design and technical plans.
• Experience with creating technical calculations, reports and fabrication drawings.

Responsibilities

• Apply thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics and power plant engineering knowledge to projects.
• Prepare calculations, specifications, and technical reports for client reviews.
• Support equipment sizing, optimization, and selection for project needs.
• Contribute to system design and verification across mechanical plant systems.
