Job summary

kW Mission Critical Engineering, a part of WSP USA, seeks an Early Career Mechanical Engineer to join our Houston, TX or Dallas, TX office. You will assist in designing building infrastructure—power and cooling systems—for data centers, collaborating with cross‑discipline teams from day one and potentially traveling to project sites during construction.

Ideal candidates have a mechanical engineering degree, 0–1 year of experience, and strong research, writing, and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 0–1 years of relevant post-education experience.
• Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
• Familiarity with design/build processes and codes.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or CAM software.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Willingness to travel as project needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from the site, surveys, blueprints, and drawings.
• Assist with basic mechanical engineering tasks and design work.
• Generate documentation and specifications using electronic systems and field notes.
• Support adherence to safety guidelines and project procedures.
• Collaborate with engineers and vendors on project development and construction.
