Job summary

kW Mission Critical Engineering, a member of WSP USA, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the Houston, TX or Dallas, TX offices. You will design complex cooling and HVAC systems for mission critical facilities, including air distribution, chiller plants, and energy solutions.

The role requires 5–7 years of experience, a mechanical/building systems degree, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Trane Trace, and Pipeflow.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with mechanical building systems emphasis.
5-7 years of experience designing mechanical systems for high performing commercial, industrial or mission critical/data center buildings.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Trane Trace and Pipeflow.
Knowledge of building, mechanical and energy codes.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; teamwork.
Willingness to travel and adhere to safety policies.

Responsibilities

Independently support the project team during design and construction stages.
Design air distribution, hydronic and automated temperature controls systems.
Coordinate and develop drawings and specifications for issuance to architects, contractors and owners.
Attend client meetings and contribute to discussions.
Mentor and train junior engineers.
Oversee mechanical design, CFD evaluations, and survey existing conditions.
