Collins Aerospace in West Des Moines, IA, is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Assembler I to learn deburring and air grinding, read blueprints, and document production steps under supervision.

You will follow standard work, participate in EHS and CI processes, and develop basic job skills while progressing toward certification within 120 days; overtime and nonstandard hours may be required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required; in absence, 2 years of relevant experience.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to read, understand and work from blueprints.
• Strong communication with all levels of staff and management.

Responsibilities

• Learn to maintain and operate deburring tools.
• Read blueprints to verify work completed.
• Accurately complete production documentation and labor transactions.
• Support and follow rules set by EHS, Quality and CI functions.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement and safety activities.
• Work under supervision and develop basic job skills.
• Perform routine, repetitive tasks with limited judgment.
• Operate hand tools and measuring equipment.
• Overtime and nonstandard hours may be required.
