Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Carroll, IA is seeking a Mechanical Assembler I to join our onsite manufacturing team. This entry level role focuses on deburring and air grinding operations with supervision while gaining certification through standard work and hands-on training.

You will read blueprints, handle tools, and contribute to precision parts production. You will work second shift, 3:30pm–12:00am (training 7am–3:30pm for 2–3 months).

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent or vocational/technical education in related discipline.
• Basic reading of prints and geometry concepts.
• Basic computer skills and ability to access prints/work instructions.
• Ability to learn deburring tools and inspection tools.
• Willingness to work 2nd shift and overtime as needed.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate deburring and air grinding tools and speed lathes.
• Read blueprints to verify work completed correctly.
• Perform daily/weekly equipment checks and production documentation.
• Participate in COPQ process and use ACE portal for issues.
• Follow safety, quality, and CI guidelines and support continuous improvement.
• Work under supervision and learn standard work procedures.
