Job summary

COWI is seeking a Junior Structural Engineer – Bridge / Marine in San Diego, hybrid schedule. The role supports design, calculations, drawings, and reports across infrastructure projects in North America. A PE license in CA or eligibility is expected, with at least two years of relevant experience.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, travel as needed, and contribute to safe, sustainable solutions while growing technical expertise at a renowned engineering consultant.

Qualifications

• MS or higher in Structural Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer license in CA or able to obtain quickly after employment.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional structural engineering experience.
• Experience in ports, harbors, coastal engineering, bridges, tunnels, or heavy civils.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for reinforced/pre-stressed concrete, steel, timber, foundations, and earth retaining structures.
• Prepare and review calculations and engineering reports and memoranda.
• Prepare construction drawings and specifications.
• Perform site inspections and construction administration tasks.
• Interface with other disciplines to coordinate design.
