Job summary

COWI in Oakland is seeking a Leading Construction Engineer to drive design and analysis for complex temporary works, focusing on marine structures and safe construction methods.

You will lead technical work, mentor teams, and coordinate with clients across California and the U.S. The role requires a Civil/Structural degree, 12+ years of experience, and a California PE license (or progress toward it).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• California PE license or ability to obtain it.
• 12+ years in construction engineering with temporary works and complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of complex temporary works for marine structures and lifting methods.
• Perform and review structural analyses and drawings for stability and constructability.
• Assess existing structures for construction, demolition, and marine loading.
• Serve as technical authority in temporary works and QA/QC oversight.
• Provide technical leadership, client coordination, and mentorship.
