Job summary

Moffatt & Nichol, a leader in waterfront infrastructure, seeks a Structural Designer for our San Diego, CA office. The role requires 7+ years of related design experience, PE/SE in CA or reciprocity, and demonstrated leadership on complex waterfront projects across Southern California.

You will prepare drawings, analyses, and specifications while guiding a design team. Knowledge of marine structures, coordination with disciplines, and field observations will support execution on challenging

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• 7–10+ years of related structural design experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license in California or able to obtain by reciprocity within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design documents and reports for structural designs of piers, wharves, seawalls, buildings, and other structures.
• Lead waterfront projects including near-shore platforms, trestles, docks, and bulk terminals; perform design, analysis, and detailing.
• Manage teams of structural designers and coordinate with other disciplines to meet budgets and schedules.
