Job summary

JE Dunn Construction’s Advanced Facilities Group is seeking an entry‑level Mechanical/Electrical Engineer who will learn to support design, budgeting, bidding and field coordination on large industrial and manufacturing projects.

You’ll participate in safety and quality programs, develop M/E scopes for bids, and assist with commissioning and shop drawings. A bachelor’s degree or related experience is required, with 0–2 years in construction preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architectural engineering or related field (Required).
• Equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
• 0-2 years construction experience and/or summer internship/co‑op experience (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Learns and actively participates in safety and quality plans and culture to support an injury‑free environment.
• Completes entry level and routine mechanical, electrical and field construction activities.
• Learns to develop budgetary M/E estimates based on program and schematic design information using automated M/E estimating system.
• Assists in reviewing mechanical and electrical options during preconstruction and performs systems analysis for select projects.
• Learns to develop the mechanical and electrical scopes of work for bid and coordination.
• Assists with bid analysis and input during subcontractor selection.
• Contributes to sequencing requirements of systems to meet schedule needs.
• Gains knowledge of design documents to identify potential quality problems for constructability reviews.
• Participates in shop drawings/submittals and commissioning processes.
