Job summary

Homeowners Financial Group seeks a Junior Lock Desk Analyst to support Licensed Mortgage Professionals and the Director of Capital Markets in rate lock, pricing, loan data, and reporting while learning mortgage origination and the Secondary Market. Entry-level, with strong math aptitude, discipline, attention to detail, and coachability.

Prior mortgage experience is not required; you will build mortgage industry knowledge from the ground up with a focus on accuracy and process.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Mortgage industry experience is not required; experience in detail-oriented office environments helps.
• Strong math and numerical reasoning aptitude required (percentages, decimals, basic financials).
• Ability to compare data, reconcile differences and resolve discrepancies.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail, especially with time-sensitive data.
• Demonstrated reliability, initiative and willingness to learn and grow.
• Basic proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook; able to develop Excel skills further.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong customer service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Work from our Corporate office full-time, Monday to Friday.
• Learn and follow rate lock, pricing, investor, and service-level procedures.
• Review new rate lock requests for completeness and accuracy; escalate issues as needed.
• Process rate locks, extensions, relocks, renegotiations, and changes within timeframes.
• Verify loan details before and after lock; ensure data accuracy.
• Enter and maintain lock and investor data in LOS, pricing engine, and portals.
• Monitor lock queues, expirations, and provide extensions to keep loans covered.
• Respond to routine questions from LMPs and Operations; escalate complex cases.
• Run and review daily lock, expiration, pipeline, and reconciliation reports.
• Support Accounting and Post Closing with fee and pricing verification.
• Communicate daily with LMPs, Operations, Accounting, Underwriting, and Processing teams.
• Participate in internal meetings and trainings; adhere to company policies.
