Job summary

OTC Markets Group is seeking an entry‑level Linux Engineer/SRE to join our IT Infrastructure team in New York City. This hands‑on role focuses on Linux fundamentals, scripting, and growing into automation, reliability engineering, and infrastructure‑as‑code.

The role operates in a hybrid setup with three days in the office and two days remote. You will work with experienced engineers to support production systems while learning, growing responsibilities, and contributing to system stability,

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Linux experience (Red Hat 8+ preferred) with fundamentals in storage, backup, and monitoring.
• Understanding of virtualization concepts (e.g., VMware).
• Strong Python scripting skills and ability to develop infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Experience with APIs, web UI concepts, and Git automation.
• Ability to write Ansible playbooks for configuration management.
• Good written and verbal communication; team‑oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support Linux-based production infrastructure.
• Write and maintain Ansible playbooks to automate tasks.
• Develop Python tooling and infrastructure‑as‑code to reduce manual work.
• Support monitoring, backup, and storage systems.
• Contribute to CI/CD workflows with Git/GitHub.
• Collaborate on system stability, performance improvements.
