Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Junior Linux Engineer to join our Cloud services team. This role is ideal for someone with foundational knowledge in Linux, Docker, and Ansible-level concepts, eager to grow through hands-on system administration and production operations.

You will monitor system health, identify incidents, escalate issues, and work with senior engineers to improve reliability, following predefined runbooks and procedures.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Foundational knowledge of Linux administration (filesystems, permissions, processes).
• Hands-on experience with Docker/K8S and basic image handling.

Responsibilities

• Perform monitoring shifts to ensure system availability and performance.
• Identify incidents, perform initial troubleshooting, and escalate as needed.
• Document incidents, steps taken, and outcomes clearly.
• Assist in maintaining and improving monitoring tools like Grafana and DataDog and dashboards.
• Follow runbooks to ensure consistent handling of events.
