Job summary

BGE, Inc seeks a Junior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to support the delivery of instrumentation, control, and automation solutions for energy services projects in Austin. You will work under a senior engineer, preparing drawings, documents, and calculations while developing knowledge through mentorship and hands-on field work.

You will gain exposure to PLC/DCS systems, instrumentation, and industrial networks, contributing to safe, reliable, and cost-effective energy solutions while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Control Systems Engineering from an accredited university is required.
• 0-2 years of instrumentation and controls engineering experience preferred.
• Coursework knowledge of process measurement, control elements, and loop fundamentals.
• Exposure to PLC, DCS, SCADA, HMI, and industrial networks through coursework or internships.

Responsibilities

• Assist with instrumentation and controls design for energy services projects.
• Prepare instrument indexes, datasheets, loop diagrams, P&ID markups, and panel layouts.
• Support sizing calculations and control valve sizing for senior review.
• Draft control narratives, technical reports, and project deliverables for review.
• Coordinate with vendors and participate in stakeholder meetings.
