BGE, Inc. in Frisco, TX, is seeking a Junior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to support the delivery of instrumentation, control, and automation solutions for energy services projects.
The role works under a senior engineer, assisting with design, documents, and field applications. You will gain hands-on experience with PLC/DCS, SCADA, instrument sizing, and control narratives while adhering to ISA, NEC, NFPA and client standards; mentorship and training are provided to develop technical
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Control Systems Engineering is required.
- FE exam: pass or eligibility by graduation.
- 0 to 2 years of instrumentation and controls engineering experience (internships/co-ops ok).
- Coursework knowledge of process measurement and control elements; familiarity with PLC/DCS/SCADA/HMI.
- Exposure to industrial networks and instrument sizing through coursework or internships.
Responsibilities
- Assist with instrumentation and controls design and deliverables for energy projects.
- Prepare instrumentation and controls design documents under supervision.
- Support sizing calculations and control narrative development.
- Learn system architecture and protocol selection (e.g., HART, Modbus, Profibus).
- Draft reports, specifications, and project deliverables for review.
