Job summary

BGE, Inc. based in Frisco, TX, is seeking a Junior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to support the design and delivery of instrumentation and automation solutions for energy services projects.

You will work under supervision on field instrumentation, PLC/DCS systems, SCADA, and metering tasks, building knowledge through mentorship and training. The role emphasizes preparing drawings and specifications, learning control system architecture, and contributing to safe, reliable energy solutions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Control Systems Engineering from an accredited university.
• 0–2 years of instrumentation and controls engineering experience or related internships preferred.
• Familiarity with control systems, instrumentation, PLC/DCS, SCADA, and industrial networks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with instrumentation and controls design and deliverables for energy services projects.
• Prepare instrument data sheets, loop diagrams, P&ID markups, wiring details, and panel layouts under supervision.
• Support sizing calculations, control narratives, and technical reports for senior review.
• Learn control system architecture and protocol options (HART, Modbus, Profibus, Fieldbus, Ethernet/IP, OPC).
• Draft and review project deliverables, ensure quality, and assist with commissioning and startup activities.
