Job summary
BGE, Inc. is seeking a Junior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to help deliver instrumentation, control, and automation solutions across energy services projects.
You will work under senior staff, developing drawings, control narratives, and project deliverables for field instrumentation, PLC/DCS systems, SCADA, and industrial networks. You will gain hands-on experience in instrument sizing, control schemas, and network layouts while contributing to safe, reliable, and cost-effective energy
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Control Systems Engineering is required.
- Must have passed or be eligible to sit for the FE exam by graduation.
- 0–2 years of instrumentation and controls engineering experience or related internship.
- Exposure to process measurement, control loops, and instrument sizing preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist instrumentation and controls design and prepare deliverables for energy projects.
- Draft instrument datasheets, P&ID markups, wiring details, and panel layouts.
- Support sizing calculations for flow, level, pressure, and temperature.
- Learn control system architecture and communication protocols (HART, Modbus, Foundation Fieldbus, Ethernet/IP).
- Prepare reports and documentation for senior review and client deliverables.
