Job summary

GHD is seeking a new graduate Fire Protection Engineer to support the Fire and Life Safety team across the East Region and the U.S. You will assist with code consulting, system design/evaluation, fire modeling, and related tasks in a hybrid in-office/remote environment.

You will contribute to developing fire protection and life safety solutions, coordinate with clients and project teams, and gain exposure to NFPA standards and modeling tools while growing your professional credentials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field
• Experience: 0–2 years in Fire Protection systems evaluation/design
• Familiarity with NFPA standards and life safety code requirements
• Exposure to fire modeling tools (e.g., FDS, CONTAM, Pathfinder, CFAST)
• AutoCAD and/or REVIT design capability preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform building and fire code consultations
• Develop contract documents for fire protection systems
• Design and evaluate sprinkler, standpipe, fire pump, and special hazard systems
• Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and authorities
• Conduct site investigations and commissioning activities
