Job summary

GHD is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to join our Fire and Life Safety team. As a new graduate, you will support a variety of projects including code consulting, system design, fire modeling, and evaluation for a diverse client base across the East Region and the U.S.

The role offers a hybrid workplace with three days in the office to collaborate with colleagues, clients and authorities having jurisdiction throughout project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field is required.
• 0-2 years of experience in fire protection design or evaluation is preferred.
• Familiarity with NFPA standards and fire modeling tools is expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform building/fire code consultations.
• Develop contract documents for fire alarm, fire protection and fire suppression systems.
• Design and evaluate fire protection and life safety systems (sprinkler, standpipe, fire pump, special hazards).
• Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and authorities having jurisdiction.
• Conduct site investigations, construction phase services, commissioning and acceptance testing.
