Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Junior Field Services Technician to support the installation, transition, and sustainment of next‑generation Voice Communication Switch (VCS) systems. The role involves site preparation, system installation, cutover activities, testing, and decommissioning in operational environments, with remote work and extensive travel to customer sites.

Qualifications

Foundation in telecommunications, networking, electronics, or related field.
Experience with voice systems or similar tech is a plus.
Willingness to travel up to 95% and work at customer sites.
US Citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance.
Ability to learn procedures and follow safety standards.

Responsibilities

Assist with site surveys, preparation, installation, and deployment of VCS systems.
Support VCS cutovers from legacy systems to new platforms.
Aid in decommissioning legacy voice systems and documenting results.
Perform basic testing and validation of power, cabling, and connectivity.
Help with troubleshooting and basic repairs of telecom/IT infrastructure.
Document work performed, issues found, and resolutions.
Learn and follow safety protocols and operational procedures.
