Job summary

Kimmel & Associates is seeking a Junior Estimator in Phoenix to support the preconstruction process for commercial projects with a focus on retail. You will work closely with senior leadership on activities from conceptual budgeting through bid submission.

The role offers hands-on exposure to the full preconstruction process, including coordination with project teams, bid tracking, and collaboration with management to align estimates with client expectations.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Retail estimating experience required.
• Ground-up and tenant improvement experience preferred.
• Familiarity with CSI divisions and Phoenix market costs.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar estimating/takeoff software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for retail ground-up and tenant improvement projects.
• Solicit, level, and analyze subcontractor and supplier bids.
• Assist with bid packages, scopes of work, and preconstruction budgets.
• Participate in pre-bid site walks and review plans and specifications.
• Maintain subcontractor databases and bid logs.
• Collaborate with project managers and leadership to align estimates with client expectations and schedules.
• Track bid deadlines and coordinate timely proposal submissions.
